Hip Hop The word can evoke many things to many low-rap music, people wearing XXL clothing, graffiti, its own language and hard to decipher ... That's all true. But hip hop is much more.
Hip hop is a musical culture born of Afro-American and who today has overstepped the boundaries of being just a fad or a momentary musical phenomenon. Today, hip hop has a racial significance, international and even social class.
Hip-Hop Culture consists of four basic modes of expression: MCing (or rapping), DJing (or turntablism), the Breakdancing (or Bboying), and Graffiti. Although these modes of expression have attached other over time such as philosophy, poetry and fashion.
But for his supporters is not just a musical style or fashion. For true fans, is a philosophy or even a way of life. A phrase you describe your way of feeling: "We are not doing Hip-Hop. We are not part of the Hip-Hop culture. WE ARE HIP-HOP "
Origins and History of Hip Hop
This lifestyle emerged in the mid 70 'in New York. Arises from parties that is used to do in black neighborhoods of the city, where there was music and dancing. The rhythms were more liked soul, funk and hard. But when just the drums, which put the disks (today known as Dj's) isolated the rhythms and the singers (Mc's current) were reciting and improvising on these bases.
Gradually, through techniques such as audio mixing and scratching (moving the disc forward and backward, to achieve different effects), it has evolved significantly and was getting closer to what we know today. And with this evolution also appeared a new dance style at parties: The Break Dance.
During the entire decade of the 80 'and part of the 90's it was thought that hip hop was just a fad and would disappear. But quite the opposite. Not only has not disappeared, but several styles of music have come out of it: mainstream, gangsta rap, electro hop, hip hop, Latin (from its beginnings in hip hop has kept a very close relationship with the Latino community in New York).

What is Reggaeton?
Reggaeton is a variant of Raggamuffin , which in turn comes from the Reggae , and Hip Hop . The characteristics of this style of music are his lyrics, sung in Spanish, and the influence of other Latin styles such as Bomba and Salsa.
Reggaeton is a relatively new genre that has become popular in the Caribbean nations from the nineties.
Countries that became popular Reggaeton
Reggaeton was made, in principle, well known in Panama and, above all, Puerto Rico , but this popularity was moving rapidly to other countries like the Dominican Republic, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua and parts Cuba. In recent times, has appeared in the United States, particularly in those urban areas like New York and Miami, with large concentrations of Latinos.
Currently, Reggaeton is known in almost all Spanish speaking countries, including, of course, Spain, in which music market has come with great force, reaching the fuse with the flamenco genre.
The great popularity in Latino urban centers has prompted some to ponder the possibility that the genre will soon eclipse the Salsa , or Merengue , among others. You could say that Reggaeton is "fashionable."
Popular Singers
Today Tego Calderon , Don Omar and Daddy Yankee are some of the best examples of Reggaeton, but the explosive growth in popularity of this genre promises to bring many artists, nightclubs and dance halls where you can listen and enjoy of this genre. All this, to be at the height of the cutting edge of urban youth culture.
